Food isn’t just something to be enjoyed. It’s also fuel for our bodies as well, and as such its intake need to be monitored and optimized. A super simple and easy way of getting more good stuff in your diet is to increase your consumption of nutrient-dense foods.

Nutrient dense foods are ones that haven’t had all the vitamins and mineral process out of them by pre-cooking and preparing. They include fruits and vegetables, as well as some whole grains, although processed white sugar should be avoided like the plague.

That is why it’s crucial that you give yourself a break at lunch. Get up from your desk and move your body, and allow your mind to get away from work for a while too. If possible take your lunch outside and get a bit of vitamin D as well. All simple things that require little effort, but can make a great deal of difference to your health in the long term.
