This month we have seen some of the coldest weather in ages, with a couple of days of sun teasing us into thinking spring had arrived, those of us in the UK know too well that wasn’t the case!
Thankfully, I’ve had a saviour during all these Baltic conditions, and it arrives in the style of a Merino Wool jacket from Antonio Gatti. I took the jacket out for a stroll to the Walker Art Gallery here in Liverpool, a first visit for both me and the garment.
The brand is based out of Romania, yet this didn’t stop them delivering the jacket out for me to review in no less than half a week. Upon opening the package I was very impressed with the standard of the jacket, you can definitely tell the wool is quality – even if it does moult on my black clothes!
Merino wool has a reputation for being warm, yet breathable as well as very durable. It has certainly kept me warm whilst it’s been very cold here in Liverpool, even when only wearing a t-shirt underneath. The Pure Wool Half Lined Jacket instantly caught my eye upon browsing the online-store and I’m glad I chose this to review as it is a little out of my comfort-zone as a more mature item of clothing.
My current jacket rotation consists of black, black and more black, therefore this multi-beige-brown jacket is a step in a different direction for me. I am aware that it will soon be Spring, the temperature will soon rise and I will cook inside a wool jacket, but I feel that because it is short in length and when it is worn unbuttoned, it will provide a versatile jacket that can be worn on the Spring/Summer days that it isn’t so warm and provide that extra layer you need on top of your t-shirt.
I decided to pair the jacket with an all-black outfit, no, not the famous rugby team, an all-black-everything ensemble that allows the jacket to take centre-stage and show off it’s textured beauty. I felt the jacket was so eye-catching that the other components of the outfit should be toned down and I feel it worked perfectly!
This is certainly a jacket that I will be using for years to come and I know the durability will be there to keep it with me as my style-game evolves.
So, thank you again to Antonio Gatti for sending this jacket over, I would definitely recommend taking a look at their website, they offer a wide range of clothing from jackets to gilets to waistcoats, and with their new Spring range just launched you will be sure to find something that catches your eye, just like me.
Until Spring actually arrives keep warm and keep praying for the sunshine!
