For many, the summer means the start of the festival season. Apart from the music, excitement and good times, people usually want to dress well for these events. Festivals like Coachella are renowned for their attendee’s fashion choices. Here in the UK, we do events as good as anyone else. I wanted to show some ideas for my personal picks for the festival season and to do so I’ve teamed up with BoohooMAN who have an endless amount of on-trend clothing which will be sure to set you apart from the crowd.
I’ll keep this short and sweet, I was supposed to attend the LIMF festival here in Liverpool, but due to a lack of planning and last minute attempts of buying tickets we ended up ticket-less. So, I’m going to pretend I’m heading off to a festival as I write this and hope to live vicariously through others Instagram stories and Facebook updates. If you’re going to any this summer do drop a comment down below and let me know where you’re off to!
Late to the scene, I’ve seen these about for quite a while now and honestly, I’ve never paid much attention to them. Get them wrong and you look like a child, but if done correctly they can give a seamless look to your outfit. I went with this dark green colouration for the matching jacket and shorts set. No stranger to keeping the colours toned down a little I went for the Paris t-shirt underneath to add some lighter colour and the graphic print on the shirt gives a little more detail to an otherwise minimal look. But the minimal flow of this outfit doesn’t mean it is a boring one, not at all. I finished the fit off with the white Nike air force, to match with the white tee. The fabric of the set is lightweight which was ideal considering the recent sunny weather. The last thing you want is to be rocking up to a festival in a heavyweight fleece. I wasn’t a fan but now I am, consider me a convert to the co-ord.
If you’re more adventurous than myself with colour there is a whole range of stripes, patterns and bold colours to play around with in the co-ord realm. Be sure to check out the ones BoohooMAN have to offer here.
A trend that has stuck in recent years is the utility or workwear movement. This usually consists of heavier, built to last sort of clothing that is both functional yet looks great. The team at BoohooMAN have picked up on this trend and created a whole host of utility clothing that meets the functional criteria but is also a little lighter. This is perfect for festival season as your traditional utility clothing would usually be too heavy and the breathability would be lacking for what you’d need as you head into the mosh pit for Travis Scott’s encore performance of Sicko Mode.
BoohooMAN have collaborated with the rapper MIST to create his own capsule collection, and I’ve utilised (lol) a couple of pieces from this collection in the next look to create a festival ready, utility outfit. I received the utility shorts and jacket. Both of which are lightweight, breathable and pack plenty of detail. The pieces are heavily black in colour but have a neon green touch on the trim and fastening cords. The neon trend has also been another big one in recent years, more of a female one but I feel that BoohooMAN have done a great job in incorporating this into the men’s line without overdoing it. I went for a monochrome look with the MIST pieces, the black jacket and shorts paired with a white tee and the black and white air max 97s to finish off the sporty yet on trend look.
